“Your winter blues heaven on Route 11.” - February 2014, Columbia and Montour counties heat up with
the Destination Blues music festival. The festival is organized by Downtown Bloomsburg Inc and the Moose Exchange.
The Destination Blues festival will feature local, regional, and national blues performers at multiple venues.
There will be bus transportation among the venues and participating hotels.
Friday, February 7, 2014 brings “Brews and Blues” music all evening long by local and regional bands at 4 area
brew pubs. The pubs - Old Forge in Danville, Berwick Brewing, and Marley’s and Turkey Hill in Bloomsburg.
National acts appearing at the Moose Exchange during “Bluesburg” on Saturday, the 8th of February, include
Moreland & Arbuckle, Alexis P. Suter, Clarence Spady, and Lonnie Shields. An advance ticket at $20 buys
admission to the Moose Exchange all afternoon and evening long, plus bus transportation between the Exchange and
hotels in both Columbia and Montour Counties.
Festival attendees can purchase down-home, locally-prepared food
and local beer. Day-of tickets will cost $25. The Econo Lodge at Buckhorn will serve as the host hotel
for the event. The other lodging partners include Bloomsburg’s Patriot Inn and Hampton Inn and
Danville’s Pine Barn Inn. Destination Blues could not happen without the collaboration of two of our area’s
longtime blues impresarios: Richard Briggs of the Briggs Farm Blues Festival and Bonnie Tallman
