Flavor of Mexico Luncheon @ Golondrinas: Fernando Olea (GC1)

    Born in Mexico City, Fernando Olea has been a proponent of Mexican cuisine since arriving to Santa Fe in 1991. Following a tour of the historic El Rancho de las Golondrinas, the last encampment on the Camino Real from Mexico City, Olea will prepare a Mexican menu that pays tribute to Santa Fe's unique history, culture and food served with wines from D'Alfonso-Curran.

    James Beard Best Chef of the Southwest finalist, Martin Rios, will demonstrate his Progressive American recipes for Pan Seared Diver Scallop, Blue Corn Bread Sponge and Compressed Peach Salad with Dill Oil. Tastes will be served and paired with wines from Robert Mondavi Winery.

    Four Great Santa Fe chefs, four Master Sommeliers, whose pairing will reign supreme? Eric DiStefano (Coyote Cafe), Louis Moskow (315 Restaurant), Tom Kerpon (Tanti Luce 221) and Charles Dale (Bouche Bistro) go palate to palate against Master Sommeliers Melissa Monosoff, Emily Wines, Joe Spellman and Tim Gaiser. Each of the four chefs chooses a wine to pair with their course as does one of the sommeliers. It's up to the guests to vote and decide on the best pairing for each of the four rounds and which team wins.
