MICHAEL SHULL - MOUNTAIN DULCIMER (Limited Engagement Oct. 9-13)
Front of Moore Building --
National award-winning Mountain Dulcimer player, Michael Shull, brings the heart and soul of the Appalachian Mountains to the State Fair. His songs and stories will make you think you are having a personal concert on his back porch. Besides his vocals and dry humor, Michael is know for his Mountain Dulcimer mastery along with the auto harp, Old time banjo, Native American flute, and the washboard.

South Gate --
One of the most important endangered species is our beautiful population of bears both domestically and internationally. The Welde Family brings an educational and entertaining display of these most incredible creatures. Their performances are helping to raise the level of awareness of the dangers in loosing our wild endangered species.

Front of Nutt Cattle Arena --
Swifty Swine Productions, Racing Pigs are busy shaken the bacon around a 150' oval track at some of the nation's biggest fairs, festivals, and special events. These little porkers pound the turf at a blazing 15 mph, and all for an Oreo cookie.

WLTX Stage --
K9s in Flight is guaranteed to give you High Flying Fun the Whole Family will enjoy. All of John's incredible dogs are rescued or adopted. The show promotes and emphasizes the importance and desperate need for pet adoption. K9s in Flight is dedicated to the education and awareness of the pet overpopulation problem and committed to a solution.

WLTX Stage --
This amazing hypnotist and accomplished magician and mentalist is back and you won't want to miss his ever-changing, fast-paced show, from the classic spinning hypnosis wheel to his hilarious sock monkey.

DENNIS LEE ( Limited Engagement Oct. 9-17 )
WIS Stage --
The Dennis Lee Show goes into several genres of music including hot country and pop music; nostalgia, old time rock n' roll, patriotic ballads and Elvis Presley favorites. Dennis keeps the show fresh with his topical jokes and off-the-wall humor. Expect the unexpected with The Dennis Lee Show.

Netterfield Stage --
The award winning a cappella sensation, Home Free, is a distinctive combination of comedy and music featuring 6 male vocalists with extensive theatrical and musical training. Each performance showcases a new, animated, and electrifying experience that draws audiences in, and leaves them amazed.

WLTX Stage --
Bronkar Lee is the world's only rhythmic juggling beatboxer! He blends music, comedy, raw skill and contagious energy in a way that you've never before experienced. His one man "circus of sound" is unbelievably just a mouth and a body full of pulsing rhythmic energy, and combined with charismatic audience interaction.

DENNY THE CLOWN (Limited Engagement Oct. 9-17)
One of the best-known and most-loved entertainers at the fair is Dennis Lee (aka Denny the Clown). His love of people and the excitement he gets from entertaining is evident by the crowd he draws year after year.

Carrie McQueen makes her 5th visit to the Fair roving the grounds. Not only is she an elegant and glamorous ten-foot-tall Southern Belle, but she will amaze you with her juggling ability as she strolls through the Midway. A unique talent in the Fair community!

Nationally-renown Barney Fife look-alike and impersonator, Scott Epperson, brings everyone’s favorite bumbling deputy to life so well you’ll swear he just stepped off the streets of Mayberry! From his lone bullet he carries in his pocket (but takes pleasure in showing) to his NIP IT IN THE BUD statements, Scott loves bringing good old Mayberry fun to crowds at the South Carolina State Fair.

Every fair has their entertainers, but not every fair has a 9 foot tall cartoon boy running amuck. Rollo will entertain you with his comical dances, jump ropes, shrinking himself, and he does it all on stilts! Rollo has been performing for over twenty years in several countries around the world and his comedic antics will satisfy every funny bone in your body! Also, Steven Rohmer is a native South Carolinian from Beaufort, South Carolina.

Farmer Bob and “Johnny,” the world’s funniest tractor, will have folks rolling in laughter with his comical antics. Humor with a little history. You never know what Farmer Bob is hauling around so come find out!

World class acrobatics, amazing one-of-a-kind tricks, and a girl on fire is the recipe for an award winning show that is sure to thrill. Paz and Leah present the ancient circus art of hand to hand with their own quirky twists as they perform a number of tricks and stunts that no one else on the plant performs! Add some fire to their already unpredictable undulations and risky relationship and you have...Feets of Fire!

Cantey Building & SC State Fair Web Site --
In 2012 the SC State Fair introduced a wide-ranging program called "From Field to Fair" designed to educate, entertain and motivate consumers about the wonders, and the profound importance, of agriculture in South Carolina. The State Fair created the "From Field to Fair" program to continue and expand its historic tradition of promoting and uplifting agriculture in South Carolina, bringing together ag-related resources around the state and educational tools from the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture. The "From Field to Fair" program puts a strong emphasis on education for young people and with games to teach children about farming and sustainability in a fun, participatory, and age-appropriate fashion. Each completed game awards participants with a "stamp" to be placed in their personal My American Farm "Passport to Sustainability" (see web site for details). Every youngster who completes the series will be awarded his or her own blue ribbon at the 2013 South Carolina State Fair. Academic Avenue --
Journey back in time and see all the hard work and ingenuity that went into living and making a living in early America. See a mule-powered sugar cane press in action, blacksmith demos, a walk-through heritage museum, and more. A hands-on experience the whole family will love!

Cantey Building --
Dairy has never had a better friend and advocate than Billy Bob Steinberg, The Moogician!. Incorporating dairy facts into his performances, Billy Bob juggles balls of mozzarella cheese, performs magic tricks with milk, cheese, and yogurt, and is a renowned COWMEDIAN!

Front of the Cantey Building --
Andean descendants from the Incas, these talented musicians use an astounding number of instruments (flutes, guitars, drums, pan-drums, hand-held percussion, etc.) to produce the enchanting music of their homeland Ecuador.

Academic Avenue --
Join members of the Lexington County Fire Service at the FIRE SAFETY HOUSE. Learn about fire and weather safety. The Lexington County Fire Service will be hosting fire and severe weather training classes. Children will have an opportunity to learn basic fire safety practices including how to crawl low under smoke, how to plan an escape route from your home and what to do if your clothes catch fire. Teenagers will learn about kitchen fire safety and the science of fire. Adults can learn about what to do in case of severe weather. All training will be conducted in a Fire Safety House that will be on display near the Abernathy Horse Arena. Free shows every hour.

Have a question about agriculture? Look for Uncle Ag on the "front porch" in the "From Field to Fair®" Agricultural area of the Cantey Building.

12 Noon - South Gate --
Each day at the Fair pause to honor our great country and the men and women who serve in our military.

Moore Building --
Fresh-baked, delicious Spunkmeyer cookies on sale in the Cookie Kitchen. Proceeds benefit the South Carolina State Fair Scholarship Fund.

Academic Avenue --
They have been at the Macy's Day Parade, the White House, and now the South Carolina State Fair. Featuring camels, elephants, and ponies, and for those brave enough to climb on board, you can even catch a ride. Get a close look at your favorite animals. While this exhibit is certainly a children's favorite, it promises to be entertaining for all who attend.

SAND SCULPTURES - Ellison and Ruff Buildings
Our sand sculptures have always been so popular that this year we decided to have TWO...one in the Ellison Building and one in the Ruff Building! The Ellison Building theme is "A Season of Merrymaking". The Ruff Building theme will be announced soon, so stay tuned. Our talented sand artisans have worked around the globe and have 10+ World Sand Sculpting Championships under their belts. In the Ellison Building they will turn 75 tons (150,000 lbs.) of damp sand into a carnival wonderland! Come watch as the sand is shaped and molded into a fabulous detailed piece of art, right before your eyes! Be sure to come back on the last weekend of the fair to see the finished product!

Cantey Building --
Don't miss the ROADSIDE MARKET again this year located in the "From Field to Fair" agricultural area of the Cantey Building. That's right, in addition to the pronto pups, elephant ears, fries, and cotton candy, you can purchase FRESH PRODUCE at the SC State Fair.

Front of Nutt Cattle Arena --
This is a smooth ride for young and old alike. Ride far above the noise and the crowd for a spectacular and relaxing aerial view of the magical SC State Fair!

WACH Fox 57 Food Tent --
Relax and be serenaded by Carl Brunson (a Mullins SC native), variety entertainer, as you enjoy your favorite fair food in a covered hospitality tent. You name it and he can play it...you may find yourself pushing back a table or two to dance!

The SC State Fair awards annually $300,000 in scholarships to high school seniors through its Scholarship Program held in early Spring. In honor of current and past scholarship winners, hundreds of banners depicting recipients name and high school are displayed all over the fairgrounds.

Cantey Building --
COWLINA, is a life size interactive educational tool, allowing children of all ages to learn the art of milking and have fun doing it! Cowlina is a handmade and hand painted fiberglass cow with its own unique appearance. A self-contained pump delivers constant fluid from the udders to the authentic stainless steel milking pail. It's easy, educational, and FUN!
